Based on the success of our inaugural event in the spring, we have scheduled our second event at the University of Houston in the Science Center which houses the Department of Biology & Biochemistry, the Institute for Molecular Biology and is conveniently located to other buildings devoted to life science research.

The Biology & Biochemistry department consists of 45 tenured or tenure-track faculty. Our faculty represents the best of combined teaching and research. They are professionals who bring our students the current topics, the newest techniques and discoveries, and the potential new directions from their fields of specialization. This research is supported by over $8.0 million yearly in grants held by faculty from federal and other sources outside the University. Faculty has offices on floors 2-5 of the Science and Research Building 2 (SR2), floors 3 and 4 of the Houston Science Center (HSC), and the 3rd floor of the Science and Engineering Research Center (SERC).
