University Research Centers and Institutes support interdisciplinary research interactions that span at least two schools/colleges within the University. By definition the Centers and Institutes welcome the participation of researchers with a broad range of skills, capabilities, and areas of emphasis. This approach brings together diverse teams of researchers with the capacity to identify, analyze and propose solutions to complex social, technological and scientific problems. The resulting multidisciplinary interactions establish an environment in which teams of KU researchers frequently succeed in achieving a national reputation for scholarly excellence.
